Visit Details: September 2016, Part of a roadtrip to Maine with Bill and the dogs (Sadie and Jasper).

In 2016, we took a roadtrip up to Maine and stayed in a cabin close to Freeport. This trip was really all about the dogs. They got long walks daily in the woods where the cabin was located, in Acadia and around the Freeport area where there were plenty of other parks to visit and enjoy. You can check out Acadia NP and Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park from the destinations page.

We found plenty to see and do in the area, but made sure to take some time to relax and unwind as well. Freeport itself is a cute little town and home to the L.L. Bean Headquarters.

Below is our cabin complete with a shed, grilling area, firewood, hammock and a nice little deck.

The dogs made themselves right at home ...

There was a little trail behind the cabin that led down across a little foot bridge to a sitting platform where you could look out on the water.

The Linwood E. Temple Waterfront Park was a cute little area to take a stoll in.
